Back-to-school season is just around the corner, and for many families, that means it's time to get kids back onto a regular sleep schedule after a summer of later bedtimes and sleeping in. But sleep isn't just about feeling rested, it's critical for concentration, memory, decision-making, emotional regulation and overall well-being. So how much sleep do kids actually need, and what's the best way to reset their body clocks before those early school mornings begin? Sleep researcher Dr. Rébecca Robillard from the University of Ottawa, spoke to Ken Connors.
