The team that can't start the meeting until the manager arrives has a new manager now. It's made of math, and it never gets tired of being needed.
Episode 4 of Team Chemistry is a double feature - the same trap, twice. I read two articles on the conductor trap: the pattern where a whole room of capable people collapses into a single-file queue, waiting on one node to fire. In "The Conductor Trap: Enabling Learned Helplessness," that bottleneck is a well-meaning human being. In "The Conductor Trap: AI and Atrophy," it's AI - which sounds like an upgrade until you notice the human conductor had one accidental safety feature: they eventually got tired of being needed and told you to figure it out yourself. The machine never will. Same dependency, rebranded from "alignment" to "best practice." Because you still can't whistle a symphony - no matter how patient the thing whistling it for you.
