68. SLC Punk

Play this back in 1.5x speed! In this episode of the Tame Aperture Movie Podcast, we break down SLC Punk!—a loud, funny, and surprisingly thoughtful coming-of-age/slice of life film about identity, friendship, and growing up. In a lot of ways, SLC Punk! feels like the punk-rock cousin of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off—both are playful, fourth-wall-breaking snapshots of youth and growing up. But where Ferris is about escaping responsibility for a day, SLC Punk! is about realizing you can’t escape it forever.
