April Fox and Doom Yoga

Mover, shaker, and avid pursuer of joy and community.April Fox has as been teaching yoga since 2014 when she landed in Portland from her home town of Detroit, MI. With a background in professional concert dance, April has a deep passion for exploring movement and its connection to mindfulness and expression. April came to the yoga mat in 2010 seeking compassionate care for her worn body and mind (spoiler alert, she found it). She has also spent time teaching and studying in Melbourne, Australia and continues to dance and create. She comes to the classroom with the intention of creating space to explore that potential through inquisitive practices with somatic influences. “We cannot teach people anything; we can only teach them to discover it within themselves” is a quote from Gallileo that informs and inspires her commitment to helping students find their individual truth and awareness. You can expect a great playlist from this music lover, a few jokes about butts and armpits, and some experimentation in practice so that any body at any experience level can find a joyful, personalized practice.
