REUPTAKE (reworking of Serotonin Reuptake, original instrumental track by Silvio Vinci)
Morning leaks in
through a chemical sky,
I wake with someone’s memory
moving behind my eyes.
The city breathes slow,
its windows painted grey,
every thought comes back to me
then quietly slips away.
Serotonin reuptake,
keep the signal alive,
something in the bloodstream
is teaching me to survive.
Serotonin reuptake,
between the dark and the blue,
I’m waiting for my mind
to feel like mine again too.
The clocks have stopped
but everybody runs,
plastic flowers turning
toward artificial suns.
I hear my name
inside the underground,
a little pulse of happiness
without a single sound.
Neon rain falls
on the pharmacy sign,
I watch the red lights tremble
at the edges of my mind.
Serotonin reuptake,
slow river in my head,
carry what is living
through the country of the dead.
No revelation,
no sudden burst of light—
just one small door
left open
in the night.
