BORROWED MORNING (reworking of original instrumental track , Lormetazepam, by Silvio Vinci)
Something quiet closed the door,
I don’t remember anymore.
Faces melted into walls,
Distant voices down the halls.
I dreamed in pieces, out of time,
Someone else’s sleep was mine.
It’s a borrowed morning,
A borrowed light,
I left my dreams
Somewhere last night.
My eyes are open,
My head is slow,
I know I’m here —
But I don’t know.
Half a shadow, half awake,
Every sound begins to shake.
Coffee cooling by the bed,
Little clouds inside my head.
Was I dreaming? Was I gone?
Why does morning feel so long?
It’s a borrowed morning,
A borrowed light,
I left my dreams
Somewhere last night.
My eyes are open,
The room is clear,
But something in me
Isn’t here.
Don’t wake me fast…
Don’t ask me why…
There’s still a little
Night behind my eyes.
Borrowed morning…
Borrowed morning…
Give me back
My night.
