No Borders

As humans we are used to the concept that there are borders and limitations. There are borders of countries, for example, and there are limitations to our competences of what we can do and achieve. So it sounds like a too big task when Jesus instructs us to go into all the world, after all, there are indeed certain limits and there are only few preachers. And many people are not interested in the Christian message. So it looks hopeless, the borders are narrow and there seems to be plenty of reasons to give up. But Jesus adds a second sentence, because it is not about us, not about our abilities. Rather it is about the wonderful good news of salvation, that knows no borders. The good news is available to everyone, there are no borders. Let's pray: Lord, we thank you for the wonderful good news. Your offer of salvation goes beyond comprehension. Thank you that your invitation is available to everyone. We humbly turn to you in repentance, and do not trust in our own goodness, rather we rely on your mercy and receive your forgiveness. Thank you that in your grace you offer new beginnings, confidence and joy that lasts forever. Help us to be good witnesses of your wonderful message. Give us the courage to walk boldly and to proclaim you without any borders or limitations. To you be praise and glory and honor forever. Amen.
