TEACHING NOTES Point 1: Good Leadership Promotes Justice • When you know God, you will know justice (v1) • In seeking to satisfy self, the kings consume their own kingdom (v2-3) • God allows them to suffer in the mess of their own making (v4) Point 2: Good Leadership Promotes Righteousness • Flattery can make you vulnerable to exploitation (v5) • God won’t force you to walk in righteousness, but calamity will catch up with you (v6) • In leading the people into confusion, the prophets will become full of confusion (v7) Point 3: All Leadership Points to Jesus • Christ centred leadership begins with the filling of the Spirit (v8) • The reign of Jesus is established on righteousness (v9-10) • Jesus is the servant leader who paid the ultimate price himself (v11) • Jesus is a king of justice, righteousness and mercy (v12)
