Rou attempts to converse with the ghostly figure despite Trix’s protestations. The figure refuses to respond outside of pointing toward the beam of light in the distance. Rou poses that they might be the wizard Arcazar. The figure seems to respond to that, but not in a way that confirms the party’s suspicions. They are soon interrupted when a horde of skeletons march on the observatory. Surprisingly, the mob is stopped some distance away from the entrance, almost as if an invisible barrier protects the building.
On the brink of exhaustion, the party decides to rest and set up a watch. Trix sets traps downstairs before taking the first shift, sitting at the top of the stairs to watch the door. After an uneventful shift, Rou takes over and spends it trying to get answers from the figure to no avail. Elaith suffers nightmares and is all too happy to take their shift when Rou wakes them. As the morning hours approach, the figure points toward the bed when Elaith asks about what the horde wants. Rou and Trix, both plagued with their own nightmares, are awoken by the sounds of Elaith tearing the bed apart.
