What Claude Code couldn't do was replace the settling time: that pause where edge cases surface and decisions mature. The speed of building with AI quietly removes the friction that used to do useful work. Matt shipped with a bug live, watched the likes roll in, and had to pull it back. The lesson wasn't to slow down, it was to build the pause back in intentionally.
