Mutual Recursion: Breaking the Feedback Loop

Two functions can trap each other in an endless cycle of calls. Marriages, families, and workplaces can develop similar patterns in which each person’s reaction reinforces the other’s. One patient or generous response may be enough to interrupt the loop.
