Fokus: Comics – Past, Present, Future Efter et kvart århundrede med tegneseriekritik, udstillinger, bøger, debat og podcast, indtager Rackham Louisianas koncertsal med det internationale symposium Comics – Past, Present, Future. Det er et debatarrangement, der stiller skarpt på tegneserien som litteratur- og kunstform med blik udtryksformens historie, blik på nutidens udfordringer og syn på en fremtid præget af kulturelle brydninger, digitale platforme og kunstig intelligens. Det sker i selskab med store internationale gæster som Art Spiegelman, den legendariske skaber af Maus, Europas modigste bladtegner Coco og den fænomenale satiriker Liv Strömquist, samt en række kritikere, forlæggere, redaktører, mm., heriblandt Gary Groth, animerende kraft i The Comics Journal og Fantagraphics Books, Benoît Mouchart fra Tintins forlag Casterman og Dan Nadel, museumsinspektør på the Whitney Museum of American Art i New York. The event focuses at comics as an art form, and as literature, exploring the its history, the challenges of today, and with view to a future shaped by cultural shifts, digital platforms, and artificial intelligence. Joining us are major international guests such as Art Spiegelman, the legendary creator of Maus; Europe’s boldest editorial cartoonist, Coco; and the singular Swedish satirist Liv Strömquist. They’re joined by a number of critics, publishers, editors, and others, including Gary Groth, the driving force behind The Comics Journal and Fantagraphics Books; Benoît Mouchart from Tintin’s publisher Casterman; and Dan Nadel, curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. We take you behind the scenes in this special episode, in which Matthias Wivel talks with Thomas Thorhauge and Frederik Storm about an event unlike anything else in Danish comics culture.
