A Podkey summary of Translate your app using agents in Xcode, from WWDC 2026.
A lot of app localization used to come down to guesswork, cleanup, and somebody eventually spotting that a button label made no sense in another language. What’s changing here is that translation agents are getting much better context, better guidance, and a much tighter feedback loop with the actual UI, so the work starts looking less like blind string conversion and more like a real product workflow. The big themes are context-aware translation, plural handling, team-specific guidance, layout checking, model choice, native-speaker testing, and an iterative process that keeps up with new features instead of turning localization into a one-time fire drill.
- Why context changes everything
- Plural forms and batch-aware subagents
- Giving the agent a house style
- Checking the UI after the translation
- Model choice still matters
- Why native-speaker testing still matters
- Keeping localization in sync with development
