A pile is a bunch of names and numbers. A pipeline is names with a scheduled follow-up and a next step. James Shaw pulls from Shift pages 81 and 105 and MREA pages 142 and 148 to explain why most agents don’t have a pipeline: they only cultivate leads who can book an appointment right now. Your database is your business, and a database with just names and numbers is a phone book. A real one has a record of your relationship and a date for the next follow-up. His simple rule: take whatever timeline someone gives you, cut it in half, and never wait more than 90 days to check in with “The last time we talked, you told me your plan was to do blank. Is that still your plan?” Per page 148, every 12 people you communicate with regularly can net you two sales. The reminder: Care about people whether they are paying you or not, and don't only call when it's time to get paid
