Claims that it single-handedly started a "wildfire" of false claims of satanic activities back in the 1980s, when it really didn't gain popularity until almost ten years after it was published. It is referred to as a "debunked" or "disputed" book when those smoking gun claims fall very short of proving anything of the sort. Why then, bother to make all of these claims when they are false?
