Students Who Can’t Read or Write — And They Don’t Care
0:00-1:00:40
transcript
show notes
Monique and Kevin respond to educator Darius Cooks’ viral video about high school seniors who cannot read or write a simple sentence. They argue the core problem is not funding or “systemic racism,” but culture. Many students lack the desire to care, homes often provide little accountability. Drawing on sociologist, John Ogbu’s work and a Texas report on F-rated majority-Black schools, they discuss parental responsibility, school choice over “representation,” homeschooling and church-based alternatives, and the need to give young people vision, agency, and a foundation in being made in God’s image.
