show notes
A few days ago, the head of AI company Anthropic, put out a call for the pace of AI development to be slowed down. In his proposal, chief executive Dario Amondei, outlined the serious risks associated with the rapidly evolving tech and laid out a three-point plan that would bring together governments, companies and third-party evaluations. Rival tech bosses Sam Altman and Elon Musk have agreed with the ideas. So, what's driving these concerns and what's behind this call? Andrew Cullen has been writing about this for The Conversation and is an AI Consultant and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne's School of Computing and Information Systems. He joins the show tonight to discuss.
