Everyone sees creative and occasionally provocative exercises on social media. Before teaching the exercise, we ask ourselves the following questions: 1) What is the purpose of the exercise. 2) Who is the exercise for. 3) Is it safe for this client or class and 4) How might I need to adapt it for clients who are taller, shorter, tighter or looser. Whether you create new exercises to address a particular movement pattern, to add variety to a workout or to help a client in pain move more comfortably, let's talk about why, how and when to create new exercises.
