Leaving Nebaj

Nebaj (ney-BACH) On a sunrise drive out of Nebaj, Guatemala, drifting through uncertainty and self-suppression, I witnessed a quiet procession of Indigenous Quiché walking to market. A beautiful but ordinary moment forced me into an uncomfortable awareness of lives rooted in endurance and community.
