At 18 years old, I found myself in a legal battle against a giant phone company over a $1,000 roaming bill I couldn’t afford to pay.
As a broke international student in Montreal, I cried, panicked, and spent countless hours on hold trying to explain my case. Instead of giving up, I documented every conversation, sought legal advice through my university, filed a case in consumer court, and won.
In this episode, I share the story of one of my earliest lessons in resilience and problem-solving—and the simple framework that has stayed with me ever since:
* Document the facts.
* Understand the problem.
* Ask for help.
* Take action instead of freezing.
* Keep taking the next right step.
Because no matter how impossible a problem feels today, you are far more resourceful than you think. Sometimes, all it takes is the courage to keep moving—one step at a time.
