From Sleeping In A Car To 11 Billion Streams: Alex Warren Gets Real About Grief

Hey Lifers!
We have such a special one for you today. If it sounds a little different, that's because we recorded this in the green room! We'd just come off stage after interviewing Grammy-nominated, 11-billion-streamed, ten-times-platinum (here in Australia!) artist Alex Warren, live, on the night his new album Wildchild dropped.
You know Alex from "Ordinary", one of the biggest songs of the last two years, but what makes him so special isn't just the music, it's how openly he talks about what got him there. At nine, Alex lost his dad to cancer. At 16, he was kicked out of home and lived in his car. At 21, he lost his mum. Today he opens up about all of it: writing a song from his late dad's perspective (with a guitar solo from John Mayer), the voice notes his dad left him before he passed, the "what ifs" of grief, his mum's addiction and the regrets he still carries. He also has one of the best love stories we’ve ever heard.
