Maple Gold Outlines Path to Two-Mine Gold Complex | Alex Rodriguez

Maple Gold Mines is advancing plans for a potential two-mine gold complex in Quebec, targeting a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) in Q2 2027 for its Douay/Joutel project. Speaking with Kitco Mining's Ernest Hoffman at XPLOR 2026 in Montreal, Alex Rodriguez, Senior VP of Corporate Development and Strategy at Maple Gold Mines, discusses the company's April resource update and plans to incorporate approximately 57,000 meters of drilling into its next resource estimate. Rodriguez says the project could support “not only one mine, possibly two mines,” combining Douay's open-pit potential with higher-grade underground resources at Joutel. With five drill rigs operating, Maple Gold anticipates further assay results through early 2027. Rodriguez also discusses gold market sentiment, the project's economic potential, and plans for winter exploration targeting new satellite deposits.
