UK composer and synthwave producer Robin Ogden builds imagined soundtracks for films that don't exist — wonky vintage analogue synths, tape loops and spring reverb, recorded hot and gritty. His 2012 album 194 is a love letter to Carpenter, Goblin and Vangelis, and Calico Brawn (2013), the album spotlighted in Beyond Synth's first episode, is its Miami Vice-soaked counterpart, mastered to VHS — its "Shore Thing" became the Beyond Synth theme. He's since scored award-winning games (Actual Sunlight, This Is The Police I & II, Hacknet: Labyrinths), featured in and scored The Rise of the Synths, and was named Electronic Sound Magazine's One To Watch in 2019.
