Debate Rages After Mom Of 5-Year-Old Convicted For Letting Son Walk 1/2 Mile Alone

On its face, it sounds horrific: a mom allows her five-year-old son to walk alone to a neighborhood pond, a half mile away. That mom is Karyann Parkinson and she’s speaking out after being convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Parkinson is also now on a state abuse registry for the next seven years. The mom of five says she had just walked to the pond six times with her son that day, in their gated community, complete with security guards. It was one of those guards who escorted the boy home, and ultimately called police. Debate is now raging online among parents, how young is too young to walk alone, and what is the role of the state when it comes to making parenting decisions? Family Of Celeste Rivas Hernandez Calls For D4vd To Face Death Penalty

On what would’ve been Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s 16th birthday, her family released a new photo of her and a statement saying the death penalty “would be perfect” for singer D4vd, who’s been charged with the killing and dismembering the young teen. Today is the one year anniversary of the discovery of Hernandez’s remains in the front trunk of D4vd’s Tesla. Even though the last execution in California happened two decades ago, the DA has not yet taken the death penalty off the table. Hernandez’s family also called into question D4vd’s legal representation, saying he is not indigent and should not qualify for public defenders after after his private attorneys withdrew from his case last week. Is It Just Us, Or Do Waiters Ask You This Question?

While interracial dating is not taboo the way it was in years past, it is still fascinating the way we are often treated when we’re out at restaurants together. Over the weekend, we dealt with the same question we are constantly asked, and it’s a question we were NEVER confronted with when we were with same race partners. We discuss why it’s difficult to assume people of opposite races are in a romantic relationship, and what would should say the next time we’re asked if we want to “split the bill." Men, Please Shower! Science (And Women) Do NOT Support Pheromone-Maxxing

We just had to get to the bottom of one of the most bizarre dating trends that has exploded online: pheromone-maxxing. Also known as, not showering for days in order to let body odor build into a “biological superpower” to attract a partner. Here’s the deal though, human pheromones have been studied for decades, and there is no scientific evidence to support this trend. In fact, not only is it flat out gross, it could also be detrimental to your health. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

An Illinois Mother “Invested In Lindsay Clancy” Strangles Her Child, Blames Psychosis

A horrific story out of an affluent Chicago suburb has the country stunned by the similarities between Lindsay Clancy and 38-year-old mother of four, Corie Walshe. Walshe’s older two kids made the unimaginable discovery of their 2-year-old baby brother, Barrett, hanging from the basement rafters after they came home from school. Their mom was in the bathtub, reportedly trying to kill herself. Hours earlier she had been in a group chat with friends talking about the Lindsay Clancy trial, and police say Walshe told them she killed her toddler because he was the “anti-Christ.” Thankfully an infant was found unharmed in the home, but now Walshe is charged with first degree murder, leaving family, friends and the entire community in shock. We Were Supposed To Meet In Mexico, Instead We Met At His Husband’s Funeral

Our dear, late friend and guardian angel, PR guru Howard Bragman had just invited us to meet the new man in his life on a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Howard was offering us a safe space, away from the paparazzi and nosy tabloid reporters, after a particularly tough day negotiating our exit from ABC. Howard wanted us to meet the man he said he was going to marry one day, Mike Maimone, but God had other plans. Just days after accepting his offer, Howard suddenly passed from an acute and deadly form of leukemia, but the day before he passed, Mike proposed and the two married at Howard’s hospital bedside. We eventually did meet Mike, a few weeks later at Howard’s memorial service, and now he’s become a forever friend to us. Mike has penned a book detailing his beautiful love story with Howard, honoring the man we all miss each and everyday. Our conversation with Mike Maimone on his book, “Guess What? I Love You." **NEW** Wheel of Fortune Fires Longtime Announcer…. And It’s Bad

Sony Pictures has officially fired longtime announcer Jim Thornton from “Wheel Of Fortune” after photos show Thornton on a known pedophile chatroom while on an American Airlines flight back in May. Now, TMZ has released new photos from the passenger who documented Thornton’s online activities, showing what he did after the flight attendant confronted him and told him to close his laptop. Thornton was looking for advice from AI about being digitally linked to the pedophile chatroom, even suggesting he was panicked. TMZ also identified Thornton’s chatroom handle, which exposes exactly what he was saying on the chatroom while in flight. We want to warn you, the messages are extremely disturbing. Thornton’s attorneys initially offered a flimsy explanation of accidentally clicking a link, but are no longer commenting, following his firing See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

**NO VERDICT** Killer Mom Trial: Judge Officially Declares MISTRIAL

A one hour delay, turned into a three hour ordeal, that ultimately ended in a mistrial. After a judge from the Massachusetts Supreme Court denied the defense’s last-ditch effort for an emergency stay, Judge Sullivan officially declared a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial. There was no emotion on the faces of Lindsay Clancy, her family, or any of the jurors after the announcement was made, following 40 hours of deliberations and a grueling 5 week trial. There is already a status hearing on the books to prepare for a possible retrial, which the DA has not committed to as of yet, set for the end of the month. **BREAKING** Killer Mom Trial: Judge Gives Defense 1 Hour Before He Declares MISTRIAL

The jury came back after nearly 38 hours of deliberations with a note that said “with a heavy heart” we are unable to come to a unanimous decision. After protest from the defense, Judge Sullivan said he had no choice but to declare a mistrial. But that didn’t stop Kevin Reddington who asked to appeal to a Supreme Court Justice to issue an emergency stay on the ruling, and shockingly, Judge Sullivan gave him one hour. **NOW** Killer Mom Trial: Judge Tells Defense “I’m Not An Actor” Before Deliberations

Before jurors began deliberating again this morning, things got heated once again between Lindsay Clancy’s attorney Kevin Reddington and Judge Sullivan. Reddington wanted the holdout juror to be questioned in open court, but the judge ultimately denied his request, saying there was no indication the juror has refused to deliberate or follow the law. Reddington then accused the judge of softly, glossing over his instructions to the jury, and that’s when Sullivan fired back, defending himself. The judge ultimately gave new, slightly more forceful instructions to jurors before sending them back to deliberations. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Killer Mom Trial: Inquiry Expected Into One Holdout Juror Before Day 7 Of Deliberations

It’s anyone’s guess what may happen when court resumes at 9am in the triple murder trial of Lindsay Clancy. We heard from Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, that the judge will first hold an inquiry into the juror identified for refusing to follow the judge’s instructions on reasonable doubt. Depending on how that goes, jurors are then expected to resume deliberations for the seventh day, up against the timeline of a holiday weekend. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
