David Maraga is a Kenyan jurist who served as the 14th Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya from 2016 to 2021. He is widely known for leading the historic Supreme Court decision that annulled the 2017 Kenyan presidential election annulment, making Kenya the first country in Africa to overturn a presidential election in court. Before his appointment by Uhuru Kenyatta, Maraga served as a judge of the Court of Appeal and the High Court, earning a reputation for integrity, independence, and strong adherence to the rule of law.
