In this episode of Happiness Through Creating, we explore the remarkable story of Anna Mary Robertson Moses, better known as Grandma Moses, who discovered painting in her seventies after arthritis made embroidery too painful. With no formal training, she transformed decades of memories from rural farm life into more than 1,500 paintings and built a celebrated artistic career well into her nineties. Her story offers us a powerful perspective on creativity, aging, and the human drive to keep creating, while challenging the belief that creativity has an expiration date. If we’ve ever thought we were too old, too late, or past our creative prime, Grandma Moses reminds us that the desire to create can find a new form at any stage of life.
