Ep. 11 | If God Is Good, Why Does Hell Exist?

If God is a loving Father, how can hell exist? And if everyone goes to heaven anyway, what is the point of all we suffer here? In this episode, Fr Patrick Cahill takes on one of the hardest questions in the faith. Drawing on the Catechism, C.S. Lewis and St Augustine, he explains that hell isn't God punishing us against His will. It is what happens when we freely choose something other than Him. Love that is forced isn't love, and God loves us too much to take away our freedom. Hell isn't a sign that God lacks mercy. It shows how much our choices matter.
