It's that most wonderful time of the year! It's when GGG gets the ball rolling on pumping out its teasers for Path of Exile's future! Path 2 and PoE 1 have some big announcements coming next week at ExileCon, and with the new coin and dagger teaser they just put out, there's lots of hope and excitement for ExileCon 2026! Thanks for listening to episode 368! Love ya!
With ExileCon 2026 just one week away, we're getting ready for a very big stretch of Path of Exile news. This week, we go through the convention schedule and talk about what we're most excited to hear from Grinding Gear Games, including the keynote, developer panels, Developing New Classes, and the founders' roundtable. We also get into why the talks about boss design, the game engine, and the sound of Wraeclast can be just as interesting as the headline announcements. Between preparing for New Zealand and figuring out what we can watch from home, we're ready to find out what's next for Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2.
The Path of Exile 2 "Become the Darkness" teaser gives us plenty to overanalyse before we get there. Is that a dagger piercing a Perandus coin, and could the black smoke be hinting at the Shadow, rune daggers, or more classes and weapon types? We pick apart the clues, share our hopes for the missing Ascendancies, and try to keep our wish list separate from what's actually been revealed. We also revisit the next Path of Exile 1 league, our ongoing 3.30 or 4.0 debate, and why we're hoping ExileCon kicks off a much busier month for both games. Apparently, all it takes to get us going again is a coin and something sharp.
