The Hill reported that the Senate has passed a bill that could change how nickels are made, and even how we pay with cash. It may sound tiny, but it's not. Small changes in currency ripples outward. According to The Hill, the Senate approved a bill that would allow the US Mint to change the materials used in nickels. Why? Because the metal in a nickel cost more than the nickel itself. Pennies already crossed that line years ago and now nickels are following.
