Pediatric Shock

Do you feel comfortable recognizing and managing the different types of shock in pediatrics? Shock is a life-threatening emergency where quickly identifying the underlying cause is critical to choosing the right treatment approach. In this episode, we’ll work through 3 classic cases involving hypovolemic, cardiogenic, and distributive/septic shock. Along the way, we’ll review the key exam findings that help distinguish each type of shock and the treatment approaches that differ between them.
