Das Sammelkartenspiel Magic: The Gathering entstand 1993 und besteht mittlerweile aus mehr als 27.000 verschiedenen Karten. Die Kombinationsmöglichkeiten sind so groß, dass man im Spiel eine universelle Turingmaschine einbauen kann, die komplett ohne menschliche Interaktion alles berechnen kann, was ein normaler Computer auch berechnen kann. Also kann man z.B. auch eine Magic-Situation aufbauen, sodass die Auswertung des Effekt-Stapels genau dann terminiert, wenn die ZFC-Mengenlehre inkonsitent ist. (Vgl. EIG039).
