Case #061 - Sakia Gunn

Welcome to Episode Sixty-One of Do You Dare? It’s Pride Month and much like last year we are dedicated every episode of this month to talking about and highlighting LGBTQ+ cases that so often get low medida coverage and low effort from police. This week we are covering the heartbreaking death of a 15yr old black lesbian who was just trying to make her way home when her life was so callously and unnecessarily cut short. (Trigger warnings: includes Homophobia, Racism, Child Murder.) In this episode Em along with a very special guest dive into the case of Sakia Gunn, a girl who lost her life in the most horrific way whilst trying to protect her friends from two men that couldn’t take no for an answer. Following along as we explore who Sakia was, the events surrounding her death, and the lasting legacy she left behind. Join us as we remember such a promising young woman and celebrate the way her local community rallied for change after such a tragic loss.
