Onimusha Is Good... But I'm Still Waiting To Be Blown Away

I got more hands-on time with Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and after playing through several sections of Capcom's upcoming action game, I'm starting to get a much clearer picture of what the final game could be. The combat is fast, aggressive and satisfying once you find its rhythm, but I'm still struggling with the timing of the parry and dodge mechanics. I've also played enough of the opening hours now that I'm wondering how much deeper the combat, exploration and overall structure will become. Right now, Onimusha feels good. I'm just not convinced it's going to reach the same heights as some of Capcom's other recent games. I also got hands-on time with the Nintendo Switch 2 version, and came away very impressed with how well it played. These are my latest impressions after spending several hours with Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
