Why Does AI Code Serialize Parallel Tasks?

transcript
show notes
Ask an AI assistant to fix a race condition or a flaky concurrent test and it will often add a lock, an await inside a loop, a global mutex, or a retry with a sleep. The tests go green and the parallelism you designed for is gone. This episode covers why AI defaults to serializing concurrent code, why the result passes every check you have, and why builders running agent pipelines, async workers, and batch jobs need to state their concurrency intent outright, because the model will not infer it.
