There’s growing concern about the level of abuse, harassment and intimidation being faced by elected representatives, both online and in public.
It follows the assault on Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae in Dublin this week, while here in Clare, councillors have raised concerns about harassment of politicians and their families, and the safety implications of having home addresses publicly listed on ballot papers.

Joining Alan Morrissey to discuss it were Fianna Fáil TD for Clare Cathal Crowe and Sinn Féin TD for Shannon Donna McGettigan.
