Dear Choose Happy Community,
Grief can feel overwhelming. It can make you wonder if you’ll ever feel like yourself again. But what if your tears weren’t a sign that you’re falling apart? What if they’re a reflection of how deeply you’ve loved?
This teaching reminds us that we don’t have to fear grief or rush past it. We can honor the love beneath our sorrow, stay present with ourselves and those we care about, and keep taking the next step. Even in the hardest moments, you can rise, stand firm, and discover a quiet strength that’s been with you all along.
Here’s one of our favorite quotes from the video:
“If I’m crying, these are tears of love, and I honor the love. I honor the love of my being, and I honor that I am connected in community to the goodness and the beauty that dwell in all hearts. And when I’m honoring that, that will help me be of service to that. So then I’m not afraid of the sorrow or the pain or the grief or the loss.
“I’m just honoring it, and I’m saying, ‘Yes, that’s true, and I’m moving through it. And I will be with my loved one, whatever it is that they’re moving through’. And then we’re back again into that energy of Psalm 20. We will rise up and stand firm. And so this is something that moment by moment each of us can do.
“I will rise up and stand firm, and it’s always happening in the now.”
We also shared this video on YouTube, but wanted you to be able to have it on your Substack video player as well, in case you prefer that.
Having it on Substack makes it easy for you to see any other podcasts, videos, articles, or full meditation services that might be available in the Expansion Within Expansion by clicking here.
If you have heard this teaching before, we invite you — as Swami so often invites us — to hear it as if you are hearing it for the first time. Often we receive these teachings right when we need them.
In loving service,Awake Yoga Meditation

Consider making a financial contribution to Awake Yoga Meditation
Your generosity makes it possible for AYM to share Kriya Yoga, meditations, and teachings of truth with people around the world. It also allows the community to support the presiding teacher’s Dakshina (reimbursement of basic living expenses for housing, transportation, and insurance). The presiding teacher for Awake Yoga Meditation is Swami Nityananda.
Consider making a financial contribution to Swami’s Bowl
As the presiding teacher, Swami Nityananda selflessly offers her wisdom without taking a salary from Awake Yoga Meditation. Your gift honors her giving and ensures she can continue to share her invaluable teachings. The tradition of meditation communities like Awake Yoga Meditation is to support the presiding teacher’s Dakshina (reimbursement of basic living expenses for housing, transportation, and insurance). All of the other myriad expenses of life are offered from student to teacher through Swami’s Bowl.
