It’s time to make your voice heard. In this special Mike Drop Monday: Get Out to Vote episode, we’re taking a step back from the usual conversation to focus on the NALC election and the information every member should have before casting their ballot. This episode is about information, not endorsements. We’ll take a neutral look at the election process, the offices up for election, the candidates and their published platforms, and the issues being discussed. Giving members an opportunity to hear the facts, compare the information for themselves, and make their own informed decision.Whether you’ve been following the election closely or are just trying to understand what’s on your ballot, this episode is designed to help you navigate the process and, most importantly, participate.According to the NALC National Election Committee, ballots may be mailed as early as September 18 and through September 28. If you are eligible and don't receive your ballot by October 5, there's a process for requesting a replacement, but the deadline to contact Membership is 4 p.m. Eastern on October 9. And ballots must be received by noon Eastern on October 19 to be counted. If you don't receive your election ballot by October 5, don't just assume you're out of luck. NALC says you should contact the Membership Department at 202-393-4695 to request a replacement ballot. The deadline to make that request is 4 p.m. Eastern on October 9. And remember, ballots have to be received by noon Eastern on October 19 to be counted. This is your union. This is your vote. Make sure you use it.
