Bitcoin, Art, and Our Divine, Lost Knowledge! with Ariel Birdie

Ariel Birdie has long been intrigued by civilization. She replicates what she finds to be the most graphically interesting artistic recordings, depictions of mythology and language, and what lost worlds have been left behind to us. She did not go to art school… rather she studied anthropology in pursuit of these interests. She began making art a serious pursuit later in life, finding confidence and motivation to put in the time required. For her, making art becomes meditation; a way to connect with nature, life force and the grounding energy we become distracted from in our modernity. It felt natural for her to combine her art with Bitcoin as she became more immersed in the multi-dimensional qualities and subcultures of Bitcoin itself. The appreciation of Bitcoin surpasses all divisions and borders, and its perfection in design and function mimic nature and our conception of divinity. Her work has made these connections visible and relevant to the public. Her Bitcoin art is homage to culture, and a celebration of human achievement. GODS OF BITCOIN is a series she started in 2020, all hand drawn and hand gilded physical pieces with fine detail, each made with hours of devotion to meet the challenge of true proof of work. She moved from a larger painting studio to her home with only a desk, picking up micron pens and hashing tiny marks to create her pieces. She has often rendered subjects from sculpture that she finds beautiful, but will use anything that reflects culture, like textiles, jewelry, or tools. Looking forward, she is currently apprenticing with a master printmaker to learn intaglio printmaking. She has been honored to present her work at The Bitcoin Conference and Adopting Bitcoin Art Galleries, with works also in private collections and in the Bitcoin Art Museum in Nashville, TN. Her work is being exhibited at the upcoming Bitcoin Conference in Vegas this year.
