The head of the European Union has proposed Canada join the block as a new "associate member". The Prime Minister says he welcomes the ambition, but instead called it an "alliance for the future". What would a closer alliance mean for Canada regarding issues like trade and defence and what does this all mean for Canada's sovereignty? UBC political science professor Heidi Tworek joined the program.
