The Mets Honor 40 Years Since the '86 World Series Champions

2026 marks 40 years since the New York Mets won the World Series in 1986. For the Mets-Marlins game on August 1 at Citi Field, the Mets are inviting the '86 team back for a 40th anniversary reunion and celebration. A.M. Gittlitz, author of the book, Metropolitans: New York Baseball, Class Struggle, and the People's Team, reflects on the 40th anniversary of that beloved team, and listeners share their memories of watching the '86 Mets.
