In this 40K Fireside video, Dave breaks down the October competitive Warhammer 40K meta after the latest balance update, the new Space Marines codex, and the shift toward durable all-in armies.
We start with Orks, who are still looking like one of the strongest armies in the game despite the recent shooting nerfs. Dave talks through why Battlewagon and Tankbusta builds still look excellent, why Nazdreg and Meganobz are likely to be everywhere, and why Orks remain the army to beat going into October.
We then move into Space Marines, including why Take and Hold looks like the strongest disposition for Marines, why Terminator durability builds are likely to be popular, and how the common Terminator / Deathwatch Support / Assault Brethren package works.
Dave also walks through the Ultramarines list he has submitted for Paris, built around Guilliman, Calgar, Bladeguard, Assault Terminators, Deathwatch Terminators, Impulsors and Scouts. We talk through how the list plays, what it’s trying to counter, and how opponents should approach playing into these durable Marine builds.
Finally, we zoom out to the wider meta, covering Orks, World Eaters, Sisters of Battle, AdMech, Space Wolves and the rise of big durable pieces backed by high-quality damage.
